Scale. Proportion. Balance. Color and texture. In her collaborative approach to interior design, Dorothy marries classical with contemporary.
“Ultimately, my clients live in the space,” she says. “My job is to help them hold onto cherished possessions while considering the possibilities of contemporary arrangements.”
Bergman was born in Buffalo, into a family three-generations strong in lithography and fine printing. She studied at Syracuse University, London England and the State University of New York at Buffalo, and holds a degree in Art History with a concentration in Arts Management. She is New York School of Interior Design certified. Bergman worked for Herman-Miller and Knoll dealers in design and sales for contract furnishing in Buffalo and Manhattan. Her design work has taken her to Vancouver, Seattle, New York and Malibu, as well as private homes in Paris and Palm Beach.
Ever mindful of historic art and design aesthetics, Bergman deems the work of John F. Saladino as a personal inspiration. She welcomes opportunities to work with clients who bring in architects and landscapers to create thoughtful and complete design projects.
